Asian Art in Canada, March 12, 2016, NYC

Thank you to everyone who showed up to my lecture in NYC at the Bohemian National Hall! I wasn't expecting such a large audience and hopefully my talk was of interest to those who attended. It was a busy NYC Asia Week for everyone and I feel honoured (this is the Canadian spelling!) for your time to listen to me. Hopefully you were able to view all the dealer galleries on the upper levels too! Thank you to the organisers of the Asian Art Fair for hosting me, and Yifawn Lee from Orientations in Hong Kong to sponsor the event. I also want to give a big thank you to the individual who took the below picture and sent it to me!

Since the history of collecting Asian Art is such a vast topic, it was quite a challenge to condense everything into 45 minutes. My main priority was to focus on the history and key characters who established the Asian Art collections at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the end, I was also able to include the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art. For future projects, I would love to research more on the Asian Art dealers in Canada, and the museums in Western, Central and Eastern Canada.

If you have any questions on the subject or need a copy of my bibliography, please feel free to contact me.

I do hope to do more lectures in the future with regards to collecting Asian Art and the various museums in Canada. I will try my best to keep my whereabouts updated in my events page.
