New York Asia Week
Asia Week is still on! Despite the recent international health scares, Asia Week will be proceeding as planned. I will be visiting New York City for five days to attend the festivities which include the Asian Art previews at Bonham's, Christie's and Sotheby's. There will be numerous Asian Art themed exhibition openings including shows at Asia Society New York, The Rubin Museum, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lecture on Ceramics/Porcelain and the Chinese Art Market
I will be in joining Professor Sarah Richardson's third year 'Sand, Stone, Gold and Crystal: Materials and Materiality of Asian Art' class at the University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus, to provide students with an overview of the different types of porcelain and ceramics in Asia, as well as provide a synopsis of their current market. Some sample objects from my collection will be showcased.
New York Winter Show
January 27 to January 29
I will be in New York for two days to meet up with various clients and to visit The Winter Show - held at the historic Park Avenue Armory, it is the largest fine art, design and decorative art fair in America . During my spare time, I will try to view the new Asian Art exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rubin Museum.
Visit to Chicago
January 23 to January 25
I will be in Chicago participating in Hindman Auctions Asian Art appraisal day on January 23rd from 11am to 4pm. Please stop by if you are in the area! During my spare time, I will be re-visiting the Asian Art galleries at the Art Institute of Chicago.
