Major Milestone Achieved for @anthonywuart!!!
Updated: 10 hours ago
A big thank you to everyone who has been following my Instagram account! It's really quite remarkable (and humbling) that I somehow made it to 2000 followers!
I initially started @anthonywuart four years ago as a complement to my website - IG is a fairly simple and fun way to upload some of the art highlights I've been coming across from various museums, galleries and auction previews.
All I needed was a decent photo and 5-10 minutes to come up with an interesting description.
@anthonywuart is now one of the more popular IG accounts that deals with Asian Art and has built up quite a strong following - from industry colleagues in the auction, museum, and gallery fields to even those with just a casual interests in Asian Art.
Despite a majority focus on art from China, I'll still put together posts of art from Japan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Himalayan region. (And of course the occasional food pic too!)
IG has really been a wonderful tool to connect with people from all around the world.
I haven't been able update my IG feed as much as I wanted to over the past two months because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, but hopefully things will start picking up in next month.
With the New York Asia Week sales postponed, the Hong Kong and London sales all followed suit as well. As of now, we're all hoping that the international auction season will finally commence at the end of June.
In the meantime, I'll try my best to add photos of interesting Asian Art objects through my website and Instagram feed in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned! If one thing is certain, my career as an Asian Art specialist and appraiser is always interesting!
Feel free to browse through some of my older website blogs too including my latest Orientations Magazine article, my trip to Asia Week New York JUST before COVID-19 shut down the city, and a December visit to the newly re-opened Hong Kong Museum of Art.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to send me an email.
