@anthonywuart now with 1500 Instagram followers!!! And preview of the Giga Pearl...
Thank you to everyone who has been following my @anthonywu Instagram account! It's been a lot of fun putting these short posts together about my Asian Art adventures through Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia. I recently surpassed the '1500 followers' mark which is a huge milestone (for me anyways).
It started out just being a unique way to showcase my travels to auction previews and museums, and to focus on objects of particular interest. But over the past few months, I came across many people who really enjoy and anticipate reading my posts.
As for me, I'm slowly wrapping up my travel schedule for the Spring season. I have one more trip to New York this week... I just need to finish up some meetings and valuation projects there, and then hopefully I will take a quick break before the Toronto auction week begins in Mid June.
For this website, I still have to put together a highlights report over the next few weeks about the galleries, auction previews and museums I visited during the Spring season. Hopefully it will be posted soon.
Anyways, I'll keep adding photos of interesting Asian Art items through my Instagram feed and add more posts about the projects I am working on.
One of the major projects I am currently advising on is the 'Giga Pearl'. This is the largest certified natural pearl on the planet and weighs in at a whopping 27.65 Kg!!! (the closest competitor is approximately 6.5 Kg)
I have been working on this project for over two years, and it was finally released to the media this past March.
I've already been showcased on the CBC and the BBC, and over the next couple of weeks I will be featured on Fairchild Television and Ming Pao Newspaper. The above photo was taken after my interview with Fairchild Television in early May at my friend's Stunning Arts Gallery and Auction. I believe the full interview will be on the air the first week of June.
Please stay tuned! If you have any questions or comments, please send me an email.
